Vladimer Kaniashvili, illegally detained in the Russia-occupied village of Tsinagara, is free.

“The hotline mechanism was actively used in the process of releasing Vladimer Kaniashvili, who was illegally detained. The issue of illegal detention and his immediate release has been regularly raised by the central Government in the format of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism and the Geneva Talks.

The central Government of Georgia uses all the mechanisms at its disposal to release other illegally detained Georgian citizens”, - reads the statement.

According to the State Security Service of Georgia, Kaniashvili was detained by the occupation forces on December 9, 2021.
