The officers of Mtskheta - Mtianeti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested D.G. (DoB 2000), as a result of investigative police activities for violence against spouse in presence of a minor, violence against child, illegal deprivation of freedom of a family member, violence, threatening and damage to property.

The committed crime envisions up to 10 years of imprisonment.

The investigation established that D.G. in presence of a minor, on the grounds of gender intolerance and discrimination, physically assaulted his spouse, E.G. (DoB 1996) on the regular basis, and threatened to kill her.

The accused man physically assaulted his wife on April 5 the current year, took her phone and broke it so as not to call the police, after which he locked her in the house and did not allow to leave until the next morning.

The investigation also found that D.G. physically assaulted his young son, the mother of his spouse and threatened to kill her as well.

Investigation is in progress under Article 11(1) -151, Part II, Subparagraph “D”, Article 126, Part I, Article 11(1)-126, Part II, Subparagraph “K”, Article 11(1)-187, part I, Article 11(1)-143, Part 2, Subparagraph “C” and Part 3, Subparagraph “E”, Article 126(1), Part II, Subparagraphs “A” and “B” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
