Prime Minister attended public viewing of persons killed in armed conflict in Abkhazia

Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, together with the Cabinet members, attended the public viewing at the Holy Trinity Cathedral honoring 8 persons whose remains were recently transferred from the territory of occupied Abkhazia.

The Head of Government paid homage to the memory of the departed and extended his sympathy to their families.

The bodies of the 8 persons (5 service members and 3 civilians) missing as a result of the armed conflict of the 1990s were identified and transported through the joint effort of the Office of State Ministry for Reconciliation and Civic Equality and the International Committee of the Red Cross, within the framework of the bilateral Georgia-Abkhazia coordination mechanism.
