Murder in Khelvachauri. Police are mobilized in the village of Charnali, where a man killed his wife and child with an ax and then committed suicide. Law enforcement is investigating what became the cause of the tragedy.

A 21-year-old son and the wife of the accused, a 43-year-old woman, were killed. Another member of the family, the man’s second child, managed to escape.

The motive for the murder is still unknown. Locals said the 54-year-old man had mental health problems.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation into the premeditated murder of two persons under Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
