Business mogul and entrepreneur Elon Musk has pledged to sell USD 6 billion in Tesla stock to fight world hunger if the United Nations can explain “exactly how” the money will be spent, writes Skynews.
His promise comes after the UN’s World Food Programme (WFP) President David Beasley called on the globe’s ultra-wealthy to “step up” and commit to a “one-time” donation.
The headline of a subsequent article spotted by Mr Musk claimed that two per cent of his fortune “could help solve world hunger”.
Within hours the founder of Tesla and SpaceX CEO issued a challenge to the WFP on Twitter vowing to deliver the funds if the UN agency could explain how world hunger would be solved.
