The officers of Kakheti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Gurjaani District Divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested A.Z.(DoB 1950), as a result of search and investigation activities for premeditated murder committed under aggravating circumstances of two persons.

The committed crime envisages from 16 to 20 years or lifetime imprisonment.

The investigation established that the accused person inflicted fatal wounds to his cousin and his spouse - GZ and MZ - in the village of Gurjaani, Gurjaani Municipality, on the grounds of a neighborhood dispute and fled from the place of crime.

The law enforcers detained A.Z. in the field near the village of Gurjaani, shortly after the incident, as a result of immediate operative and search activities.

Police seized the weapon of the crime - a smooth-bore hunting rifle as evidence.

The fact of premeditated murder committed under aggravating circumstances against two persons is being investigated under Article 109, Part III, Sub-paragraph “A” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
