10 - 15 people found themselves under the rubble due to the collapse of a building in Batumi. Such a statement made today the Minister of Internal Affairs.

“Two people in contact are alive and talk to us on the phone. However, they can’s explain where they are, whether they are down in ruins or up. We are talking on the phone”, - said Vakhtang Gomelauri.

He also added that one of the versions of the collapse of the building is the damage to the retaining wall during the repair works.

“There were several versions. According to our information, the repair work was going on below, the owner was doing it, and maybe, this could be the reason for removing the retaining wall or some other reason.

We have started an investigation and will find out what caused the demolition. The investigation is underway under the second part of Article 240”, - concluded the Minister.
