On 2 October, the European Parliament will observe the local election in Georgia as part of the International Election Observation Mission, together with the OSCE ODIHR and the Council of Europe’s Congress of Local and Regional Authorities.

The delegation from the European Parliament is composed of seven MEPs: Michael GAHLER (Germany) – Chair of the delegation Miriam LEXMANN (Slovakia) Marina KALJURAND (Estonia) Katalin CSEH (Hungary) Marketa GREGOROVA (Czechia) Jordi SOLÉ (Spain) Anna FOTYGA (Poland).

The MEPs will hold briefing meetings with the EU Ambassador to Georgia, the ODIHR Core Team, the Central Election Commission, and representatives of political parties, of leading NGOs and of the media. They will also meet President Salome Zourabichvili and Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
