Violence has no place in a democratic election campaign, said today the EU Ambassador to Georgia.

“It’s clear that violence has no place in a democratic election campaign. there"s a need not only to condemn as has been done in many of these instances, but also make sure that there is a proper legal follow-up, which I hope has started and will lead to results.

Of course, violence is, to my mind, another aspect of the polarization we"re seeing again in this election campaign, as we have seen in many other election campaigns, which leads to not only a very harsh rhetoric, but also very clear division between citizens”, - added Carl Hartzell.
