The officers of Kvemo Kartli Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative-investigative activities arrested O.T. (DoB1992) O.G. (DoB 1986) and previously convicted in past - S.A. (DoB 1981).

O.T. and O.G. are charged with illegal restriction of freedom committed by a group by prior agreement and premeditated murder committed in a group under aggravating circumstances, while S.A. is accused of non- reporting the crime committed under aggravated circumstance.

The offense committed by O.T. and O.G. envisages the term of imprisonment from 7 to 17 years, while the crime committed by S.A. - from 3 to 7 years.

The investigation established that on September 18 of the current year, in Marneuli municipality O.T. and O.G. met J.Ch. (DoB1993) with the motive of retaliation, who was illegally restricted freedom and handcuffed by the mentioned persons. Later on, the accused persons took the handcuffed victim in one of the villages of Marneuli Municipality in a car operated by O.G. The offenders tied the heavy item to the victim’s body and threw him in the water canal, due to which the victim died.

The investigation established that the crime committed by O.T. and O.G. was witnessed by their friend - S.A., although he failed to inform the law enforcers regarding the grave crime.

As a result of intensive investigative and search activities carried out by the law enforcers within the frames of the ongoing investigation, all three participants of the crime were detained in Marneuli.

Investigation on the facts of illegal restriction of freedom committed by a group by prior agreement and premeditated murder committed in a group under aggravating circumstances is in progress under articles 143, Part III, sub-paragraph “A”, 109, Part II, sub-paragraph “E” and 376, part II of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
