As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Adjara and Guria Division of Investigation Department of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, detained two persons on the fact of storage and transportation of particularly large amount of excisable goods subject to marking, without excise marks.

Investigation determined, that one of the detained persons, on the territory of Gori Municipality bought and together with the second detained person, by the vehicle owned by him, transported particularly large amount of non-excised tobacco of “OSCAR” and “MAC” to the territory of Adjara region, for its further sale.

As a result of the investigative activities, 2 500 packs of non-excised tobacco, intended for sale, were seized. Total market value of seized goods equals GEL 11 000.

Investigation is underway under the second part, subparagraph “g” and third part of Article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisage imprisonment from 6 to 8 years.
