Zurab Zviadauri, Olympic champion, charged with premeditated murder. The Prosecutor’s Office also filed charges today against another person arrested during the incident in Tsinandali.

He was charged under Article 238 of the Criminal Code (negligent possession of a firearm, thus creating a condition for its use by another person, which led to dire consequences).

Zviadauri has been arrested after 3 individuals, including Zviadauri’s brother, were killed in Kakheti.

On August 16, in the vicinity of the village of Tsinandali, the quarrel between several people turned into a physical confrontation. During the confrontation, V.C., born in 1971, opened fire from a firearm registered in the name of J.J., who is currently detained, which was responded by shooting by N.K, born in 1994. As a result of the shooting carried out by N.K., 4 persons were wounded, 2 of which died on the spot. Zviadauri also fired from a firearm, during which N.K., born in 1994, was fatally wounded.
