Police have confirmed six people have died in a mass shooting in Plymouth. Emergency services were called to the Keyham area of the city just after 6pm after witnesses reported gunshots.

Tragically, Devon and Cornwall Police this evening confirmed a gunman had shot dead five people. It is thought he then killed himself, although this has not been confirmed.

PlymouthLive reports a child under 10 was among those killed and the majority of the dead were not known to the gunman.

Two other people have been shot, although they are reportedly not seriously injured.
