The officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a result of intensive complex operative-investigative activities detained drug dealers in Tbilisi, Ponichala settlement, Rustavi, Batumi and Kutaisi, as well as in Bolnisi municipality.

The officers of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry and the officers of Tbilisi, Imereti, Adjara and Kvemo Kartli Police Departments along with the officers of the Special Tasks Department detained 20 individuals on the fact of illegal purchase, storage, sale and attempted sale in-group of drugs in large quantities.

The following persons have been detained: M. Ch. (DoB: 1969), J.Kh. (DoB: 1976), G.G. (DoB: 1988), S.S. (DoB: 1981), G.K. (DoB: 1996), B.A. (DoB: 1957), J.I (DoB: 1965), L.G. (DoB: 1993), V.M. (DoB: 2001), I.Kh. (DoB: 1956), R.A. (DoB: 1961), P. G. (DoB: 1996), Kh.A. (DoB: 1966), E.L. (DoB: 1983), R.K. (DoB: 1980), J.A. (DoB: 1987) and B.M. (DoB: 1972), as well as, the foreign citizens: E.G. (DoB: 1989), I.K. (DoB: 1990) and J.M. (DoB: 1990).

The investigation established that the accused individuals were systematically selling drugs to citizens. The law enforcers, based on the judge’s decision, carried out several control purchases of drugs and secret audio-video recording of the mentioned purchases.

The foreign nationals detained by the Police were the couriers of an organized group of drug dealers on the social network. They used to place and distribute drugs for illegal sale at various locations in Tbilisi.

During the personal search and search of their residential apartments, the law enforcers seized a particularly large quantity of various types of drugs as evidence.

The police seized: 1 liter and 952 grams of amphetamine-containing liquid, 50 grams of amphetamine-containing powder, up to 15 grams of MDMA-containing and up to 200 grams of cocaine-containing substances.

The Police of Kvemo Kartli seized up to 2 kilograms of heroin as evidence during a search of the house of the accused J.A. The police of Adjara e, as a result of personal search of the accused B.M. seized as an evidence 50 pills of the drug “suboxin” containing “buprenorphine”.

From the house of one of the detainees R.K - the Police of Imereti seized as an evidence an illegally purchased STALKER 2918-UK pistol.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of firearms and drugs in especially large quantities, the Articles 260 and 236 of Criminal Code of Georgia.

The committed crime envisages from 8 to 20 years or lifetime imprisonment.
