MIA sealed 2 ritual halls in Batumi due to repeated violations of isolation and quarantine rules

On August 11 of the current year, the officers of Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a result of investigative activities for repeated violation of isolation and quarantine rules sealed two ritual halls – “Era” and “David” in Batumi.

The investigation established that the mentioned objects were fined for violation of isolation and quarantine rules in past.

The mentioned ritual objects, despite the imposition of administrative fines, continued their economic activities prohibited by the resolution of the Government of Georgia, based on which an investigation was launched against them under the Article 248 of the Criminal Code of Georgia and the mentioned objects were sealed.

As you are aware, according to the Article 2481 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, committing the same action by a person who has already been administratively punished for violating the isolation and / or quarantine rules, shall result in criminal liability. The abovementioned crime committed by the legal entity envisages a fine, deprivation of the right to operate, as well as the possibility of joint use of liquidation and fine, while in the case of a physical person - house arrest from six months to two years and / or up to three years of imprisonment.
