Georgian athlete fails doping test at Summer Olympics

Georgian athlete Benik Abramyan has failed a doping test for steroids at Summer Olympics in Tokyo. 36 years old Abramyan will miss today’s competition.

“Before leaving for Tokyo, almost all licensed athletes, including Benik Abramyan, underwent doping control. Regarding the established rule, he is removed from the Tokyo Olympics. His future sports career will be discussed later by the relevant sports organizations”, - reads the statement of the Georgian National Olympic Committee.

Benik Abramyan is a shot putter, he competed at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Summer Olympics.
