The Prosecutor’s Office has charged 5 more people with violence committed against media representatives for their journalistic activities.
The defendants were forcing journalists to terminate their professional activities through physical violence and verbal abuse.
The investigation carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs revealed that on July 5 - 6, in parallel with the rally organized by Tbilisi Pride, the opposing group attacked representatives of the media and did not give them the opportunity to carry out their professional activities.
A total of 8 people were charged so far in connection with the July 5 and 6 rallies against Tbilisi Pride. 25 people were identified as victims, including 19 journalists and cameramen.
55 persons, among them 53 media representatives, were assaulted during the anti-Tbilisi Pride rally on July 5, according to the Interior Ministry.
