The officers of Ozurgeti Police Division of Guria Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained previously convicted for armed robbery K.Ch. (DoB1970) as a result of immediate operative-search activities.

The committed crime envisages from 6 to 9 years of imprisonment.

The investigation established that on June 8 of the current year, the accused person assaulted SOCAR gas station on Ekvtime Takaishvili Street in Ozurgeti with a shotgun, the so called “Abrez”. Under the pressure of the firearm, the offender appropriated 135 GEL from the operator and fled from the place of crime.

The law enforcers, as a result of immediate operative-investigative and search activities, arrested K.Ch. several hours after the incident.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of armed robbery committed through illegal entry into a parking lot or other repository, crime envisaged under article 179, Part II, subparagraph “A” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
