The officers of Guria police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative-search and investigative activities detained D.M. (DoB 1991) in Ozurgeti. The mentioned person is accused of a different action of sexual character committed against a family member who has not reached the age of 14.

The committed crime envisages from 15 to 20 years or lifetime imprisonment.

Investigation established that detainee committed action of sexual character against the under-aged stepdaughter (born in 2010) of his spouse from an unregistered marriage. It was also ascertained that D.M. committed the mentioned sexual offence against his step-daughter on the regular basis.

As soon as police received the report on sexual misconduct against a minor from the side of the stepfather, Ozurgeti police regional division immediately launched investigation and detained D.M. as the accused person.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of a different action of sexual character committed knowingly, against a family member who has not reached the age of 14, crime envisaged under the article 11-138, II part, sub-paragraph “F” and part IV of the same article, sub-paragraph “A” of the criminal Code of Georgia.
