US Embassy delivered personal protective equipment and laboratory testing supplies to the State Laboratory of Agriculture.

“Over the past year, the United States has provided more than USD 7 million in assistance to help Georgia fight the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure the government continues delivering essential services to the people of Georgia.

Yesterday, our new Deputy Chief of Mission, Rian Harris, helped the U.S. Embassy’s Defense Threat Reduction Office deliver personal protective equipment and laboratory testing supplies to the State Laboratory of Agriculture. This donation is worth more than USD 114,000. The State Laboratory of Agriculture provides essential services that ensure food safety and help farmers diagnose plant and animal diseases. This work is vital to ensuring Georgian food producers continue contributing to Georgia’s economic recovery. Global cooperation is crucial to save lives, promote economic recovery, and build better resilience against future biological catastrophes. The United States will continue working closely with Georgia and international partners like the COVAX facility to meet these challenges”, - reads the statement of the Embassy.
