The Ministry of Internal Affairs publishes video footage recorded inside and outside of the United National Movement

Due to the high public interest, the Ministry of Internal Affairs publishes video footage recorded inside and outside of the United National Movement headquarters on Kakheti Highway, “depicting the call of police to Nika Melia and gathered citizens, giving them a reasonable time to obey the rightful demands of the law enforcement officers”.

“Despite numerous warnings from the side of the Ministry made on the spot, the gathered demonstrators at the party headquarters and outside the building ignored the lawful request of the police and offered physical resistance to the law enforcers.

In the course of police activities, the law enforcers offered the gathered people to leave the building by safe corridor provided for this purpose.

Part of the demonstrators took advantage and left the building through the offered safe corridor, while other part continued the resistance and violent actions, the footage of which was clearly seen by the public through live TV broadcasts, as well as in various videos spread in social networks.

Video footage depicting a scene how the activist of the "United National Movement" throws a solid object to the direction of the police has been spread in social network as a result of which the photo equipment of certain citizen was damaged.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs will study all facts of violence and resistance for responding to similar cases in full compliance of the law”, - reads the statement of the MIA.
