Natia Turnava participated in an online ministerial meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council

Minister of Economy of Georgia participated in an online ministerial meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council.

This meeting was one of the most successful as project participants managed to fulfill their plans despite pandemic-related challenges. Georgia benefits from increased volumes of free gas from Shah Deniz which will strengthen the country’s energy independence.

We are part of a real historical process. Caspian gas will be delivered to Europe via Georgia. Following the Shah Deniz phase 2 and the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) projects, Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) entered the operational phase”, - said Natia Turnava.

Comprised of 3,500km of pipelines, the Southern Gas Corridor includes the South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion (SCPX) across Azerbaijan and Georgia, the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) across Turkey, and the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) across Greece, Albania, and into Italy.
