The officers of Vake-Saburtalo police main division under Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a result of operative-search and investigative activities detained two persons for swindle committed in large quantities with previous consent. Detainees are- Z.Ch. (DoB 1992) several times exposed in past for similar crimes and previously convicted for swindle – N.J. (DoB 1967). The mentioned persons were taken under arrest on the basis of the relevant court decision.

Committed crime envisages from 6 to 9 years of imprisonment.

The investigation established that detainees promised particular citizens to obtain US visas for them in exchange for a certain amount of cash. Detainees received money and stopped contacting them afterwards. In total, detainees illegally appropriated 145 000 GEL by swindling.

The investigation is in progress on the fact of swindle committed in large quantities with a previous consent, article 180, II part, sub-paragraph “A” and part III of the same article, sub-paragraph “C” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
