Paris Saint Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir players walked off the pitch in protest during their final Champions League group stage match over an alleged racist slur made by a match official.
The Turkish club’s players protested after their Cameroonian assistant coach Pierre Webo was shown a red card in the 16th minute of Tuesday night’s match in the French capital.
Video footage emerged which appeared to show Webo accusing a match official of using racist language.
Footballers from both teams left the pitch in the 23rd minute of the Group H clash and the game was suspended.
A UEFA statement read: “Following an alleged incident involving the fourth official, the match was temporarily suspended”.
