20 959 tests have been performed within the last 24 hours, out of which 11 400 were antigen-based and 5 246 PCR

As of today, 4 734 new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed within the last 24 hours. It was announced by Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force operating at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council at a press-briefing held today at the Government Administration.

“Within the scope of intensive testing 20 959 tests have been performed within the last 24 hours, out of which 13 166 were antigen-based and 7 793 PCR.


Since the detection of the first case, 174 383 cases have been proven test-positive so far in Georgia.


3 895 individuals have recovered within the last 24 hours, thus making the total number of recoveries reach 145 287.


Unfortunately, 38 new fatal cases have occurred within the last 24 hours. Since February 26 the total death toll has reached 1 614.


Out of 4 734 new cases detected today, geographic coverage of COVID-19 is as follows: 1 637 cases have been detected in Tbilisi, 489 - in Adjara, 823 - in Imereti, 372 - in Kvemo Kartli, 381 - in Shida Kartli, 93 - in Guria, 377 - in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 328 - in Kakheti, 143 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 73 - in Samtskhe-Javakheti and 18 - in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti”, - said Berdia Sichinava.
