Out of 3 958 new cases, 2 157 were identified in Tbilisi

Within the last 24 hours 3 958 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed. It was announced by Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force operating at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council at a press-briefing held today at the Government Administration.


“Since the first detection of the virus, the total number of infected people has reached 108 690.


We currently maintain the positive trend of a rising number of recoveries and namely 3 531 individuals have recovered within the last 24 hours, while the total number of people recovered from COVID-19 has reached 89 170.


Unfortunately, we have 36 new fatal cases within the last 24 hours, Since February 26, 2020 in total 1 012 people have died of the virus.


Out of 3 958 new cases, geographic coverage of the community transfer rate is as follows: 2 157 cases were identified in Tbilisi, 417 - in Adjara, 537 - in Imereti, 190 - in Kvemo Kartli, 137 - in Shida Kartli, 78 - in Guria, 159 - in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 140 - in Kakheti, 89 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 40 - in Samtskhe-Javakheti, 14 - in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.


At present, active cases of viral infection are 18 482, out of which 6 221 people are treated at hospitals, out of which 2 762 are based in Tbilisi, 1 048 - in Adjara and 1 226 - in Imereti. Currently acute health conditions are observed in the case of 881 patients, out of which 406 are stationed in Tbilisi, 147 - in Adjara and 201 - in Imereti. Lung ventilators are used in the case of 330 patients, out of which 161 are based in Tbilisi, 60 - in Adjara and 41 - in Imereti. 3 736 individuals are placed at COVID Hotels, out of which 1 120 are located in Tbilisi, 1 988 - in Adjara and 316 - in Imereti. 8 525 individuals are treated at home.


2 137 people are placed in quarantine, out of which 480 are based in Tbilisi, 1 062 - in Adjara and 26 - in Imereti.


Overall, 17 419 individuals have been transported from the sovereign border to quarantine spaces in the period of October 6 through November 22, 2020.


At present, 54 167 individuals are placed in self-isolation, out of which 17 563 are based in Tbilisi, 14 449 - in Adjara and 5 280 - in Imereti”, - said Berdia Sichinava.
