Today, the second round of parliamentary elections is being conducted at 17 majoritarian election districts. The second round of Extraordinary Mayoral Elections will be held in Kutaisi.

A first news briefing was conducted at the Central Election Commission. Natia Ioseliani, the CEC Spokesperson provided the media with information on the voting process.

“All election precincts opened at 08:00 am. Some electoral precincts were not opened due to weather conditions. One election precinct (11.28.33) in Khada gorge was opened a little bit later, as for Shatili, the election precinct (11.28.34) is not opened since the helicopter could not transport the commission members at the election precinct due to the weather conditions. We would like to provide you with the information on Gudauri, specially created election precinct (11.29.10) is not opened for the same reason, where 19 voters are registered, and also one additional election precinct, where 205 voters are registered in total. These two polling stations might be opened later.

Besides the above mentioned, all election precincts were ready to receive the first voter at 08:00 am, where all sanitary hygienic rules are followed, the polling process is being conducted and we would like to call upon voters to actively participate in the second round of parliamentary elections. 80 special polling stations established to ensure the participation of voters placed in medical institutions and isolation in elections have already started to serve voters with 145 mobile ballot boxes”, - stated Natia Ioseliani.

Today, voters will be provided with one ballot paper to participate in the second round of parliamentary elections. At the polling stations in Kutaisi, where the second round of Extraordinary Mayoral Elections is being held, voters will be provided with two ballot papers.

A voter shall have the ID card or passport of the citizen of Georgia while visiting the election precinct. Hereby, while entering, they have to wear the face mask and if voters fail to have one, he/she will be provided accordingly.

The voter has to remove the face mask twice for identification purposes and for fulfilling the procedures prescribed by the law. If a voter refuses to remove the facemask, he/she will not be provided with the ballot paper.
