Out of 3 117 newly identified cases, 1 202 were detected in Tbilisi, 469 - in Adjara, 302 - in Imereti

As of today, 3 117 new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed in the last 24 hours. It was announced by Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force operating at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council at a press-briefing held today at the Government Administration.

 

“Since the detection of the first case 85 952 cases have been identified so far in total.


As for the positive trend of recoveries, data of the recent days as well as the number of people recovered today lead us to believe that positive outcome indicator exceeds the number of new confirmed cases. Namely, 3 638 individuals have recovered within the last 24 hours, while the total number of people recovering from COVID-19 has reached 68 929.


Unfortunately, 45 people have died within the last 24 hours, out of which 18 fatalities occurred in Tbilisi, 9 - in Adjara, 9 - in Imereti, 2 - in Shida Kartli, 5 - in Kvemo Kartli, 1 - in Kakheti and 1 in Samtskhe-Javakheti. Since February 26, 2020 total death toll has reached 778.


Out of 3 117 newly identified cases, following geographic coverage has been observed: 1 202 cases were detected in Tbilisi, 469 - in Adjara, 302 - in Imereti, 259 - in Kvemo Kartli, 173 - in Shida Kartli, 61 - in Guria, 355 - in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 117 - in Kakheti, 86 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 65 - in Samtskhe-Javakheti and 28 - in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.


At present, active cases of COVID-19 are in total 16 219 in Georgia. 5 662 individuals are getting medical treatment at hospitals, out of which 2 630 are based in Tbilisi, 911 - in Adjara and 1 142 - in Imereti. Acute health conditions are observed in the case of 740 patients, out of which 378 are stationed in Tbilisi, 137 - in Adjara and 115 - in Imereti. Lung ventilators are used in the case of 332 patients, out of which 132 are stationed in Tbilisi, 117 - in Adjara and 24 - in Imereti. 3 351 individuals are placed at COVID Hotels, out of which 1 607 are based in Adjara, 1 239 - in Tbilisi and 222 - in Imereti. 7 206 individuals are getting medical treatment at home.


Quarantine spaces are used by 2 797 individuals, out of which 424 are based in Tbilisi, 1 610 - in Adjara and 32 - in Imereti.


In total 15 831 individuals have been transported from the border in the period of October 6 through November 16, 2020.


As of today, 52 103 individuals are in self-isolation, out of which 14 881 are based in Tbilisi, 16 724 - in Adjara and 5 387 in Imereti”, - said Berdia Sichinava.
