2 football players Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Levan Shengelia test positive for coronavirus

The players of the Georgian national football team have been diagnosed with coronavirus. According to the Football Federation, they players are in isolation and will be under the supervision of a medical team in the coming days.


“According to the UEFA protocol, two days before the official match (November 10), mandatory testing of both players and team officials took place. The results of these tests, in accordance with the protocol, are provided to the governing body of European football. The November 10 test showed a positive response to two players. Repeated test of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Levan Shengelia confirmed the virus.


The players are in isolation and will be under the supervision of a medical team. At this stage, the Georgian national team continues to prepare for the matches against Northern Macedonia on November 12, Armenia on November 15 and Estonia on November 18 with 27 players”, - reads the statement of the Federation.
