The Prosecutor’s Office released a statement on a physical abuse offense committed by a police officer in the Zugdidi municipality.

“Investigators determined that today a verbal altercation between police officer K.G., who fulfilled his job-related duties, and citizen G.S. grew into physical conflict in Zugdidi.

Citizen G.S. has been recognized as a victim, and he is now subject to a medical examination so that the severity of his injuries can be determined. Witnesses are also being questioned.

The investigation was launched under Part 1 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of Georgia after the offense committed by the police officer, identified only as K.G.”, - reads the statement of the Prosecutor’s Office.
