The search for the citizens trapped under debris after the landslide in Khelvachauri continues. According to the Emergency Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, firefighters were searching for citizens in Khelvachauri throughout the night.

Despite the difficult terrain and bad weather, 60 firefighters of the Adjara Division worked continuously.

Additional groups arrived in Adjara late at night from Samegrelo, Imereti and Tbilisi. In total, 60 firefighters arrived with special equipment. At the moment, 120 rescuers are mobilized on the spot and in addition, a group of 50 people will arrive from Tbilisi.

440 messages were recorded at the “112”. Most of them were about flooded streets, first floors of houses, yards and basements. In several places, on the road, a mass of land has fallen, the road has been blocked.
