Gigi Ugulava arrived at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and surrendered to the police. Soon he will be transported to Matrosov Prison.

He came to the MIA with his daughter. The party members met him at the scene. Members of the European Georgia, as well as representatives of the United National Movement and other opposition parties also were there.

“The struggle goes on until we get rid of this “black plague”. What we have seen today has nothing in common with justice. Such thing can happen with every person who simply disobeys Ivanishvili. We have a choice - to be obedient and slaves, or to be people who disagree with him and believe in everything. We have too much job”, - said Gigi Ugulava before entering MIA.

The Supreme Court of Georgia has found Gigi Ugulava, one of the leaders of opposition European Georgia party, guilty of misspending GEL 48 million of public money from Tbilisi Development Fund, while serving as the mayor of the capital city, and sentenced him to three years and two months in jail.
