EU Ambassador to Georgia has conveyed false information claiming that Georgia will halt its Euro-Atlantic integration process for 4 years, reads the statement of the Georgian Dream’s Communication Department.
“The EU Ambassador to Georgia, Paweł Herczyński, is spreading disinformation by asserting that ‘Georgia is stopping the Euro-Atlantic integration process for 4 years’.
In reality, the Government has explicitly stated that they are diligently pursuing the implementation of the Association Agreement and expect to complete 90% of it by 2028”, - reads the statement.
Herczynski responded to comments made by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, who stated yesterday, “Until the end of 2028, we will not raise the issue of opening negotiations with the EU”. In his evaluation of these remarks, Ambassador said “The announcement from yesterday that Georgia stops its accession efforts for the next 4 years is really regrettable”.
