The Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Maia Tskitishvili met with the USA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Kelly Degnan.
Tskitishvili informed the Ambassador about infrastructural projects of strategic importance in the country. The also talked about the programs implemented by American institutions in Georgia.
“We cooperate within the USAID projects, in the direction of development of decentralization, in terms of increasing population activity. We also have a good project and support in developing electronic services. I think excellent and fruitful cooperation awaits us”, - said the Vice Prime Minister.
Kelly Degnan welcomed the introductory meeting.
“We have had a wonderful meeting, very informative. I was impressed by the amount of work that is being done to improve the lives of the Georgian population, both locally and centrally, through various initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, which will bring more economic opportunities and strengthen both regions as well as cities.
In the future, we will have the opportunity to talk about USAID programs such as the Good Governance Initiative. The purpose of this program is to empower local communities and develop the economy through more transparent procedures”, - concluded Kelly Degnan.
