Georgia needs Anaklia Deep Sea Port project like an air. Such a statement made the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Natia Turnava, said.

“The Anaklia Development Consortium does not provide financing guarantees for the port within the timeframe, the government will discuss other possibilities for the project.
I don’t want to speak prematurely. Let’s wait for the deadline. After that, the Government will sit and discuss other possibilities for the project.
This project delayed. The investor has been demanding postponement of the project since 2017. According to the original bidding deadline, we had to have a deep-water port next year, unfortunately it did not happen. Anaklia Deep Sea Port project is very strategic and prioritized which could give assistance”, - concluded the Minister.
The deadline for Anaklia Development Consortium expires on December, 31.
