The Administration of the President of Georgia has released a statement regarding the request of the Patriarchate to pardon Archbishop Giorgi Mamaladze.

"The Administration of the President of Georgia considers it necessary to once again make the explanation regarding the petition of the Patriarchate for the pardon of Archbishop Giorgi Mamaladze: the Administration reaffirms that the petition for pardon was received by the Patriarchate of Georgia on November 8 of this year”, - reads the statement.

Hereby, the Presidential Administration says that all speculations on this issue saying that pressure is being exerted on the President of Georgia is not close to the truth. The convict related cases are being discussed in compliance with the new parole procedure.
