Representatives of the Russian occupation forces illegally detained 2 Georgian citizens near the village of Kvemo Nikozi, Gori Municipality.

According to the State Security Service of Georgia [SSSG], upon receiving the information about the illegal detention, the agency activated the “hot line” operated by the European Union Monitoring Mission. They immediately communicated to the Co-chairs of the Geneva International Discussions and international partners.

“All available mechanisms are activated to release the illegally detained Georgian citizen as soon as possible. Responsibility for all destructive actions committed on the occupied territories of Georgia, as well as along the occupation line, rests with the occupation regime”, - reads the statement of SSSG.
