There is a perception that there is a desire to revise the OSCE/ODIHR conclusion, or to bypass this conclusion and rely on some other reports. Such a statement made today the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, while talking about the evaluation of the elections by the European Union.
“We understood that the EU would base its assessment of the elections on the basis of the OSCE/ODIHR report. Unfortunately, some of the statements that we hear from various European politicians, diplomats and countries give the impression that there is a desire to revise the OSCE/ODIHR conclusion, or to bypass this conclusion and rely on some other reports, which would be, for example, from local NGOs.
The OSCE/ODIHR clearly stated in its report, both writing and orally, at the briefing, that these elections have taken place, that Georgia has an elected Government. This is a clear conclusion of the OSCE/ODIHR and we expect that everyone, including the European Union, will be loyal to the OSCE/ODIHR conclusion”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
