Constitutional Court didn’t meet the request to suspend the law “On Transparency of Foreign Influence”

The Constitutional Court of Georgia did not satisfy the request to suspend the law “On Transparency of Foreign Influence”.

Besides, the Court recognized the submitted lawsuits as partially admissible, which means that their substantive discussions will begin.

“The petition of the claimant party, pending the final decision on the case, to suspend the validity of the disputed norms”, - reads the decision of the Court.

It is also mentioned that the dissenting opinion of judges Giorgi Kverenchkhiladze and Teimuraz Tughushi should be attached to the record of the minutes regarding the non-satisfaction of the claimant’s petition on the suspension of the disputed norms.

The Plenum of the Constitutional Court reviewed the case. The Plenum members were Merab Turava, Giorgi Kverenchkhiladze, Teimuraz Tughushi, Manana Kobakhidze, Eva Gotsiridze, Khvicha Kikilashvili, Vasil Roinishvili, Giorgi Tevdorashvili.
