Ilia Darchiashvili called on domestic non-governmental organisations to "stop harming the interests of the country"

The Minister of Foreign Affairs called on domestic non-governmental organisations to “stop harming the interests of the country” ahead of the October 26 parliamentary elections.

His comments followed a recent report by the McCain Institute, which suggested that the European Union “consider a pause in visa-free travel for Georgians”. According to the report, several Georgian NGOs had argued such a development “would demonstrate in real terms to voters the consequences of Georgian Dream Government actions”.

“I want to tell all those who purposely fight against our country, the achievement that our country has and which is very valuable to each of our citizens - there is no way they can damage it. I want to call on them to stop harming the country, to stop those harmful actions that damage our country, our country’s foreign policy and the interests of our citizens”, - said Ilia Darchiashvili.
