Georgia ranks 41st in world in World Bank’s Open Government Index

The World Bank’s Prosperity Data published the Open Government Index based on 11 years of research by the World Justice Project.

The Index ranked Georgia 41st globally. The country earned 59% on a 100% assessment system. The results showed Georgia was ahead of 7 NATO and European Union member states and all the EU membership candidate states.

According to the Index, Georgia is the frontrunner among the neighbouring countries, and it is 2nd only to the Baltic states in the post-Soviet space.

The World Bank’s database is based on research by the World Justice Project, an international civil society organisation with the stated mission of “working to advance the rule of law around the world”.
