The CEC launch a contest for temporary DEC member selection

Contest for temporary members of District Election Commissions (DECs) for 26 October 2024 elections was announced. The Central Election Commission (CEC) adopted relevant ordinance at the meeting held on 27th August.

CEC Spokesperson Natia Ioseliani stated at today’s briefing that it is crucial for the election administration to ensure that all electoral processes, including the selection of temporary DEC members for October 26, are conducted openly and transparently.

In line with recent practices in election administration, the candidate selection process will be conducted with the utmost transparency. With the candidates" consent, interviews for commission membership will be held openly and broadcast live. All stakeholders and interested individuals will have the opportunity to watch the interviews live via the CEC’s official social media channels. We encourage active participation in the process.

As for details of the contest – contest for temporary DEC member selection was announced in 73 DECs. There are three vacant positions in each district. Applications for District Election Commission membership opened today.

We encourage interested individuals to participate actively and submit their documents promptly for the contest.

We would like to remind you that those wishing to participate in the competition can submit their documents in person to the Central Election Commission today and tomorrow until 18:00. Alternatively, applicants can submit their competition materials through the special electronic platform at (Konkursi.cec.gov.ge).
