In recent days, we’ve heard many absurd statements, including speculations that holding match at Dinamo Arena would be safe, I won’t go into details on these speculations - Kaladze

I fully understand the disappointment of citizens who couldn’t secure tickets for the Georgia-Czech Republic match. Such a statement made today the Mayor of Tbilisi.

“As you know, the Georgian national team will face Czechia in the first match of the 2024-2025 UEFA Nations League season. The game will take place on September 7th at 8:00 PM at Mikheil Meskhi Stadium.

The Georgian fans have immense interest in this match, as demonstrated by the swift sell-out of all tickets. The Georgian national team has recently achieved remarkable success, which is no coincidence. These accomplishments are the result of the dedication of each player, the coaching staff, the Football Federation, the concerted efforts of the Government in promoting sports development.

I must also highlight the role of our supporters and football fans, whose backing provides immense energy to the players. We’ve seen tribunes filled with Georgian fans. I thank them for creating an incredible atmosphere for our players in the stadium. Consequently, I fully understand the disappointment of citizens who couldn’t get tickets for the Georgia-Czech Republic match.

I’ll reiterate that fan support is crucial for our fellows. Therefore, we hope as many spectators as possible can attend the match. In collaboration with the Football Federation, we have decided to hold an open screening at Republic Square starting at 19:00 for those unable to secure tickets. We will provide all necessary amenities for fans, including large screens and food vendors on-site”, - said Kakha Kaladze.

He also addressed recent statements made by politicians regarding the safety of Dinamo Arena, calling them speculative.

“In recent days, we’ve heard many absurd statements, including speculations from politicians suggesting that holding the match at Dinamo Arena would be safe and that there’s simply no political will for it. The Football Federation has already responded to this issue. I won’t go into details or comment on speculations. I believe that any thoughtful individual capable of analysis will clearly understand the situation”, - added the Mayor.
