The employees of Lagodekhi Police Division of Kakheti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of the operational and search measures and investigative activities, detained A.M., (DoB 1998) on charges of illegal deprivation of freedom and sexual crime, while I.F. (DoB 1969), J.I. (DoB 1999), previously convicted S.A. (DoB 1996) and M.B. (DoB 2003) were arrested on charges of illegal deprivation of freedom.

The committed crimes envision up to 10 years in prison.

The investigation established that A.M., in order to marry G.G. illegally deprived the victim of her freedom and sexually assaulted her, while other detainees participated in the illegal deprivation of liberty.

The police, as a result of intensive search and investigation measures, found the kidnapped female in the village of Karajala.

The incident is being investigated under Articles 143 and 137 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
