The Special Penitentiary Service is releasing video footage of Mikheil Saakashvili from the Vivamed clinic.

“In order to mislead the public and create wrong perceptions about the health condition of the former president, certain media outlets are spreading video footage, according to which he cannot perform elementary physical actions on his own and move without help.

The possible goal of the false information campaign is to cause public unrest and harm the positive image of Georgia by presenting an allegedly inappropriate response from the state.

In order to objectively inform the public, we are publishing video footage, where it is clear that the reported news is not true. Once again, we urge everyone to refrain from speculating on misleading, incomplete and fragmented information”, - reads the statement.
