According to the conclusion of the Samkharauli Forensics Bureau, “Empathy” diagnoses regarding Mikheil Saakashvili are not reliable and infallible. Such a statement made today the Minister of Justice.

“As you know, this issue always arouses great interest in society, and I especially want to talk about the conclusion of “Empathy” in particular.

The lawyers of Mikheil Saakashvili appealed to the court and asked for his release from serving the sentence, or a postponement, in connection with which, the Special Penitentiary Service applied to the National Forensics Bureau on December 8, 2022, in order to establish the complete truth in the case. In this case, the interest of the service was how scientifically reliable and infallible the conclusion of the “Empathy” Center was, and how far the diagnoses were in accordance with the legislation of Georgia.

We received today a conclusion from the National Forensics Bureau. It includes 3 main directions: these are psychiatric, gastroenterological and neurological diagnoses. It should be clearly said that according to the conclusion of the Bureau, the diagnoses made by the “Empathy” Center, such as psychiatric, gastroenterological and neurological diagnoses, are not reliable and infallible.

This conclusion will be presented to the court in the appropriate manner and, naturally, the discussion regarding the postponement of the sentence and further serving or release will continue in the court”, - said Rati Bregadze.
