The civil funeral of Georgian singer and actor Vakhtang (Buba) Kikabidze is underway at Tbilisi Concert Hall. Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, Alexander Tkachenko, also attends the funeral. He read letter sent by Volodymyr Zelensky.

“To the relatives, friends and fans of Vakhtang Kikabidze,

At this time of sorrow, please accept my sincere condolences for the death of Vakhtang Kikabidze, a great artist and a great person, a friend of Ukraine, who has always been by Ukraine’s side.

A legend who was a role model for all. Ukrainians thank Vakhtang Kikabidze for his support in the fight against the Russian aggressor. His name will be recorded in the history of Ukraine as the name of a great Georgian who contributed to the defense of Ukraine’s independence and sovereignty.

We will always remember and never forget it. The bright memory of Vakhtang Kikabidze will remain in the hearts of Ukrainians forever”, - reads the letter of condolence of the President of Ukraine.

Kikabidze will be buried today with his family members at the Vera cemetery, according to his will.
