The Special Investigative Service of Georgia has detained 2 security police officers for domestic violence and assault in Kutaisi and Kakheti.

According to the agency, the officer arrested in Kutaisi had been charged with domestic violence and threats made in the presence of a minor.

An assault and stabbing of an individual in a Lagodekhi municipality village last week led to the arrest of the other security police employee.

The crimes are punishable by between 1 to 7 years in prison.
