The Ministry of Internal Affairs launched an investigation based on the information regarding Vano Merabishvili.

The investigation is being conducted under Article 126, which refers to violence.

According to Kurieri, the former Minister of Internal Affairs was physically assaulted by singer Gia Gachechiladze’s [Utsnobi] son-in-law, Giorgi [Gigisha] Sharashidze, in one of the pharmacies in Vake.

Sharashidze himself confirmed this information to Kurieri: “Confrontation between me and Merabishvili took place on January 2, in one of the pharmacies in Vake. I can’t even call it a confrontation, considering that Vano Merabishvili ran away from the very first moments. Due to the fact that there is a great public interest, I considered myself obliged not to hide, not to hide from the investigation and not to evade responsibility. If necessary, I will answer the questions of the law enforcement authorities”.
