Our answer to the question of whether we are on the good or bad side of history is that we are on the Hungarian side of history - Orban

Prime Minister of Hungary spoke about the war in Ukraine, energy prices, EU funds, and the Qatargate corruption scandal in a Christmas interview published by conservative daily Magyar Nemzet.

“This was the most dangerous year of the last thirty decades. Hungary faced the danger of being dragged into the war in Ukraine, and the rising price of energy also pushed Hungary in a dangerous direction.

Ukraine can only continue fighting as long as the United States is supporting them with money and weapons. If the Americans want peace, then there will be peace.

Regarding Hungary’s position. We are “pro-Hungarian”. Our answer to the question of whether we are on the good or bad side of history is that we are on the Hungarian side of history.

We support and help Ukraine, we have an interest in the survival of a sovereign Ukraine, and we have an interest in Russia not posing a security threat to Europe. However, we have no interest in surrendering all our economic relations with Russia”, - said Viktor Orbán.
